Guitar Quartet in this area always risks falling into being a bit ›Frithish‹. And again – here it is exactly the case. If you focus on how these guitars work together – with a clearly defined and distributed roles between them, with each one fulfilling a certain function in the piece – and if you keep in mind the riffs and the grooves, you will see where it comes from. But it would be far too easy to say that they are inspired and giving themselves a way to deal with the inspiration. You can feel that these Austrian guitarists – Daniel Pabst, Chris Janka, Claudius Jelinek and Emanuel Preuschl – they are really convinced about the way they want to take and I am sure they will have much more to say in the near future. Although it is already their second album, do not stop keeping an eye on them.
